THE DOT EATER
Children connect letters and numbers to make a Dot Eater, and they won't know how many dots the Dot Eater has eaten until the very end. High suspense—and also a highly motivational listening project.
MYSTERY MESSAGE
This mystery message doesn't declare itself until the end. Children grapple with instructions such as "Go to the second and third letters in line 4 and cross them out." If they're not listening, they won't be successful.
THE LUCKY 13 TRIP
The activity begins with some innocent-looking circles. But after some very careful listening, students take a pencil trip around the circles. If they listen well, they're in for an interesting journey.
