Flexible Thinking

Sometimes it is fun to take one subject and play with it in a variety of ways. If all goes well, the end result is a kind of "mental stretching." Fun thinking!

You'll find 15 activities that challenge young minds. For example, in "People Made," students must make a list of everything they have touched that day that has been made by people.

In "Why Not?" students must give reasons why you might not be able to see out a window or why a door might not open or why a plant might not grow.

All of the questions are expansions of subjects students already know something about.

Note: The activities included here were drawn from seven books: Are They Thinking? (4 activities); OPQ, Brain Stations and Is It Friday Already? (2 activities each); and Great Unbored Bulletin Board Book II, Ideas To Go and Waiting for Lunch (1 activity each). There are also two original activities.
